We all love to travel for our various different reasons. One of these reasons is of course to relax, and where better to relax than in or beside a fine hotel pool! Hotels understood that when they made their pool look irresistible the guests would swarm in, so there are some real gems to find all over the world. Now every hotel pool suits a different purpose. You have these huge pools for the whole family and for the kids to play in, and on the other hand you have smaller pools with the best views amongst the must surreal landscapes. Whatever your needs, the hotel pool image you see in the various magazines or on websites is often something that can make or break the deal.
We made a top list of the most amazing hotel pools to show you some of the best ones around the world.
Banyan Tree resort, Mahe Island Seychelles
The pool of the Banyan Tree resort is a so-called ‘infinity pool’. This means it looks like the pool’s edges look as if they don’t exist, the water just stops… The hotel is very private and so is perfect for honeymooners. Every room in this hotel even has its own private pool!

Marina Bay Sands Hotel pool, Singapore
The Marina Bay Sands is a massive hotel in Singapore. Whilst not so romantic due to its shear size, it doesn’t disappoint on the entertainment front, especially thanks to its world famous pool. The pool is situated in the roof garden of the hotel and has the best view over the city.

Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc, Cap d’Antibes
Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc is probably most famous because the rich and famous are often spotted frequenting this hotel. The pool is not big but is situated right on the waterfront where you can experience beautiful sunsets. Make sure you bring some cash though, because this puppy ain’t cheap.

Grand Central Hotel, Barcelona Spain.
Just like the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, the pool of the Grand Central Hotel in Barcelona is situated on the roof and provides the best view over Barcelona…from the water, that is. It isn’t big but on sunny days it’s definitely one of the best places to relax.

Hotel San Alfonso del Mar, Chile
This pool is officially the biggest in the world! Not only is it the longest pool in the world, at over 1000 meters in length, but one of its edges also plummets almost 40 meters deep, making it perfect for scuba diving. This pool is ideal for families, as kids can play all day long. Make sure you have some binoculars to find them, though!

Four Seasons resort in Bali
The Four Seasons resort pool in Bali is also a rooftop pool, but this time with a great view over the jungle. There isn’t much space to sunbathe but most people come here simply to enjoy the great view. You can reach the pool by a beautiful wooden sky bridge.

Hilton, Auckland New Zealand
The Hilton Hotel in Auckland isn’t situated in the world’s most romantic place, so they thought of something else to make their pool appealing. While not a big pool (its actually quite small), it hangs over the one of the edges of the hotel’s sky terrace, offering views of the city below thanks to a huge glass window in the side. When underwater you can see the people on the streets and the boats on the water. Quite fun!

Golden Nugget, Las Vegas
In Las Vegas everything revolves around luck, and life in the pool of the Golden Nugget follows suit. There is only a large window that separates you from hundreds of fish and amongst them even some real sharks! When you swim underwater and a shark swims by it looks like you can even touch it. Try your luck in this pool and hope the glass won’t break.

Hotel Caruso Belvedere, Caruso Italy
Hotel Caruso Belvedere is build on the edge of a giant cliff. Its pool is also an infinity pool which makes you think when coming too close you will fall over the edge. The sights from the pool are extremely beautiful as you can see very far into the distance of the Amalfi coast. When coming here you can really feel like a Roman.

InterContinental Festival City pool, Dubai
In Dubai at the InterContinental Festival City Hotel, they must have thought, “what the Hilton Auckland can do, we can do better.” They also hung their pool over the edge, but this time with a glass bottom as well! When looking down it looks like you float and are about to fall down. What a really crazy experience in this pool at the InterContinental Festival City.

The Library, Koh Samui, Thailand
The pool of the Library hotel in Koh Samui isn’t special because of its romantic views or spectacular sights. Its uniqueness comes from the fact that the whole pool is red! Who says pools should be blue? Red is the color of love, isn’t it? Instant attraction guaranteed.

W Fort Lauderdale, Fort Lauderdale USA
At the W in Fort Lauderdale the hotel didn’t have the surroundings to attract people with. What they did is create a unique experience for both the swimmers and non-swimmers: guests enter the pool area through a staircase encased in glass that goes straight through the pool! Entertaining. Not so strange that the stairs are often very crowded here.

Ubud Hanging Gardens Hotel, Bali Indonesia
The Ubud Hanging Gardens Hotel is one of the most beautiful hotels you can find. Right in the middle of the jungle, this hotel is built on a mountain edge. You go to your suite with a small train up or down the cliff where you have your own private heated pool. On top of that this resort has a 2-storey infinity pool looking out over the hotel’s rainforest surroundings.

The Cambrian, Adelboden, Switzerland
The Cambrian in Adelboden doesn’t have a big pool. Its actually quite small and is in the middle of the town. The one thing this hotel pool does have is one of the best winter views possible from a pool. When you lower yourself deep in the water to keep warm and don’t see the roofs of the neighbouring buildings you can really believe that you’re floating in a world of snow!

Santorini hotels pools
This is not about one hotel in particular but about a whole range of hotels that offer one of the best views you can have ever from a hotel pool. Santorini is a mountain island in Greece where all edges are steep slopes. Most of the hotels here are built on these slopes, offering you an incredibly beautiful view over the sea.
