When we plan our travel we always think about the attraction to visit in the country where we are going, we think about the food, about the landmarks, markets, pubs etc. etc. Planning what to do and what to see is part of the travel experience, and we all love it!

What we don’t love, I’m sure you will agree with me, is when after a long day walking in a new city, after you shoot hundreds of photos, you come back to your hotel room to download all the pictures onto your laptop and, for the first time, you figure out that your laptop is out of charge, your camera is out of charge and, even worse, your electric plug doesn’t fit the socket in the wall…

To help us all avoid this kind of nasty situation I spent a few hours surfing the internet collecting all the information about electric plugs all around the world and I’m kinda happy to share it with you!

First of all, how many different types of electric plugs are out there? In my search I found 13 different types of electric plugs and sockets; quite a lot, isn’t it? Other than that, you also have a wide variety of Voltage and frequency, from 120 Volts to 250 Volts, from 50 Hz to 60 Hz. In the table below you can find all the details country by country. About the plugs and sockets, an image is worth 1000 words, so below the table you can find the images related to all the different types of plugs and sockets.

If you want to buy a universal adapter for all these countries check out our Amazon shop ( Amazon Shop USAmazon Shop UKAmazon Shop GermanyAmazon Shop FranceAmazon Shop Italy); you can find it for £5.95

About Gigi

Hi everyone! My name is Luigi but all my friends call me Gigi. I'm from Italy, more precisely from Naples, one of the most beautiful cities in the world! I moved to Amsterdam more than 2 years ago after I’ve travelled most tourist destinations for fun.

  1. Next step is to show on your hotel page the number of outlets in a room! On our website http://www.hotels-in-barcelona.nl we want to put this information next to the top hotels at EasytoBook. Especially for business travellers this information is very important.

  2. Dieter says:

Thank you so much for this page and all the work you invested. It´s worth it! It would be a good idea, if any hotel in the world showed one plug-and-socket-picture in their galeries! As the don´t your pictures are the more precious! Thanx again
